Hazhir Mehrafrouz (Iran)

Hazhir Mehrafrouz descends from a large family of Sufi musicians of which he continues a long musical tradition, renewing it with his own compositions. The lyrics are historic, almost legendary. Mehrafrouz interprets poetry of the great Persian classics Mevlana and Hafez, contemporaries of Petrarca. His concerts have taken him all over the middle east and to Europe. His concert in Locarno, a Swiss premiere, has been organised with the collaboration of the association Hafez-Petrarca.
