Maciré Sylla (Guinea)

Guinean singer and dancer Maciré Sylla has become one of the greatest African vocalists. Her fifth album “Talitha” confirms her taste for new musical territories both acoustic and open to contemporary technological styles, for a modern and mixed Africa, open to the world. Mandingo melodies, Sahelian nostalgia, Jamaican perfumes, urban pulsations, Maciré Sylla’s repertoire is a furious and festive mix. Her concert in Locarno is a gift by Locarno Folk to The Senegal Ambulatory Themping association to celebrate its 20 year existence.
